Privacy Notice
Last updated: 4 August 2026
Born Guilty LLC, trading as THE BASEMENT, is the data controller for the personal data described below. This notice explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect and why
- Account data — your email address, display name and login credentials. Used to create and secure your account and to give you access to the lessons you purchased. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Purchase records — the product and plan you bought, the amount, currency, order status and the payment reference from our reseller. Used to unlock your access and keep accurate records. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation. We do not receive or store your card number.
- Support messages — anything you send us by email. Used to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interests in supporting our customers.
- Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser information, and error logs generated when you use the site. Used for security, fraud prevention, and fixing problems. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google to create your account. We do not receive your Google password.
Who we share it with
- Paddle — our reseller and Merchant of Record, for the sale of the course, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
- Service providers — our hosting, database, authentication and email providers, who process data on our instructions to run the service.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where needed.
- Authorities — where we are required to disclose by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep account data for as long as your account exists, and for a short period afterwards in case you come back. Purchase and tax records are kept for as long as the law requires (typically six to seven years). After that, data is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent where we relied on it. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Email support@optionfundamentals.live and we will respond within one month.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, hashed credentials, and access controls that limit each account to its own records.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and browser storage only — to keep you signed in and to make checkout work. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but the site will not keep you signed in if you do.
